The end of an era is upon us! Sadly, Big Trev is in the process of selling the business and we will be doing one last Panda Room with Big Trev Takkos at the helm in the kitchen on Saturday the 9th of September. Word is the new owners are keen to continue the Panda Room gigs (and if not we will find another suitable venue), but this will definitely be your last chance to grab one of Trev’s legendary souvlakis and southern fried chicken. Can Takkos fry chicken? You bet yer ass he can!

We will be celebrating Big Trevs last Stand with eclectic mix of 5 amazing bands, The Joker Pokers, Pelicana, Ju Ju Moon (Mission Beach), the Brazilians and Heffa Lump.

Tickets only $25. Tickets strictly limited to 150. BYO Alcohol & Esky (Yay cheap night out!). Delcious hot food will be available on the night at Big Trev’s (The Souvlaki is amazing!)

Sat 9th Sept – doors 6.00pm, bands start 6.30pm. Plenty of cover for bands and audience if rain.

THE BANDS:-

The Joker Pokers

The Joker Pokers are a collection of musical fringe dwellers teetering on the boundaries of good taste. They will take you on a genre mashing journey to a destination unknown featuring a sound palette of Acoustic Guitar, Slide guitar, Hammond organ, Rhodes piano, Synths, Violin and Banjo. Of course these are all mangled with a host of effects, delays and everything in between.

The Joker Pokers are fronted by Fraser Scott, who has shared the stage with the big guns around the world. He supported the likes of Artic Monkeys, Damien Rice, Snow Patrol, Band of Skulls, The Rubens, Reef, Tom Jones the list goes on. He is a master of anything stringed and gifted with some golden tonsils.

The musicianship conveys a confidence and fluidity that reflects the band’s experience, with soaring jazz-tinged solo’s and r’n’b accents. Featuring award winning master songwriter Steve Williams, Ben Hakalitz (Drummer, Percussionist, Producer and ARIA hall of fame inductee. The Brazilians

The De facto Panda Room house band (well it’s their P.A and lighting rig powering the gig, and the venue is their former drummers fast food shop!) The Brazilians will have their original stunt guitar player Callum “Frullet” Williams back on board along with their new drummer Ollie Vanballygooyen. Word is they will be debuting a brand new song written by the new revitalized lineup. Check out their latest single ‘The Flower Children That Refuse To Wilt’ on Youtube.

The Brazilians rock. Has a great tough swagger!!!!! Love it” – Ray Ahn, The Hard Ons

Blending the lyrical wit and wisdom of Supersuckers and the musical chops of AC/DC getting their blues on” – Dave Franklin, Dancing About Architecture

Heffa Lump

A Little Bit Grunge, a Little Bit Rock n Roll – We love presenting fresh new bands at the Panda Room. Heffa Lump describe themselves as “A band punk drunk on hard rock n roll!!” – sounds like our kinda thang.. Make sure you hang around to catch their first headline gig! Can’t wait!
